Surprisingly, I did not dive into the world of sourdough at the start of 2020. I absolutely whipped up a few batches of dalgona coffee though, so I wasn’t missing out on everything. That would've been great to have with Bored Cow, am I right? Honestly, I can be a lazy at home baker. As much as I would love a fresh loaf of bread for breakfast lunch and dinner, I’m not always up for the time commitment. But when I am, you better believe I have an episode of Buffy queued up for that hands off rise time. So to my fellow impatient and imperfect bread bakers out there: don’t be afraid to let the mixer do the work for you, and don’t stress if your loaf doesn’t quite turn out picture perfect. We live, we learn, we eat bread. Cheers.

Ingredients
Dough
¾ cup Bored Cow Original
1 tbsp active dry yeast
¼ cup sugar
⅔ cup softened butter
3 cups flour
¼ tsp salt
Wash
Equal parts maple syrup and water (about ½ cup)
Instructions
Warm Bored Cow until it is about 110 degrees.
Mix in yeast and sugar and let sit for 5-10 minutes until yeast activates.
Add butter, flour, and salt to a mixer. Add in yeast mixture and mix on low using the hook attachment for 10 minutes. (You can also knead by hand if you want a good arm workout, it will just take a bit longer!).
Form dough into a ball and place it into a lightly greased bowl.
Cover with a damp towel and allow to rise for about one hour, or until doubled in size.
On a lightly floured surface, separate risen dough into 6 pieces. Form each piece until a smooth ball and place it into a greased large muffin tin.
Cover the balls of dough and let rise for about 30 minutes.
Mix equal parts of maple syrup and water to brush on top of dough balls.
