Comfort food cravings are not so easily satisfied by plant-based food. Our vegan friendly biscuits and gravy is one delicious and simple exception. This animal-free recipe uses vegan sausage and Bored Cow original to make an astonishingly meatless gravy. Paired with your biscuit of choice (fun fact: most canned biscuits you grew up with are vegan), this dish will definitely hit the spot on those days when a salad just won’t cut it. These are the best biscuits and gravy we’ve tried on this side of a vegan diet.

Ingredients

2 cups Bored Cow Original

Biscuits of choice (Many canned biscuits are vegan....just check the ingredients!)

12-14 oz of animal-free sausage alternative (Impossible Sausage is great!)

1 tbsp oil

1 tbsp plant-based butter

2 tbsp flour

Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Bake biscuits as directed on the packaging.

  2. Add cooking oil to a pan over medium heat. Crumble in animal-free meat and cook until browned.

  3. Stir in butter and flour, whisking until lumps disappear.

  4. Add Bored Cow Original, continuing to cook and stir until you reach desired consistency. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Serve over freshly cooked biscuits.
