Instructions
-
In a small bowl, melt butter and combine with Bored Cow Original, making sure mixture is between 100-110 degrees.
-
Add yeast and sugar to bowl with butter and Bored Cow. Mix and let set for about 5 minutes for yeast to activate.
-
In a medium mixing bowl, add flour, salt, and activated yeast mixture. Mix with the hook attachment on low for 5-10 minutes or knead by hand for 10-15 minutes.
-
Once mixture is combined and smooth, cover bowl with a towel and let dough rise for one hour.
-
Once risen, separate dough into 4 pieces. Roll each piece into a long, skinny "rope" then cut each rope into bite-size pieces.
-
In a fresh, large bowl, mix together hot water and baking soda.
-
Add each dough bite to the baking soda mixture, stirring them around in the water for a few seconds before taking out with a slotted spoon.
-
Once all bites have been briefly submerged in the mixture, transfer to a greased baking sheet. Allow bites to have an inch or two of room between them to avoid overcrowding.
-
Bake in oven at 450° for about 10 minutes, or until brown.
- Once out of oven, immediately brush pretzel bites with melted butter and salt and enjoy!
